Tomburn collaborated with Advanced Ventilation Systems (AVS), a specialist supplier of ventilation and acoustic louvre systems, on a standout refurbishment project for the London Screen Academy – a unique sixth form college in North London specialising in preparing students for careers in the film and related industries. Located just a short walk from the iconic former Highbury football ground, the project echoes elements of the stadium’s distinctive architectural style.
The project involved the supply and installation of over five-hundred AVS50 GL28 Louvres, seamlessly combining form and function to meet the building’s aesthetic and operational needs. These included:
– Active louvres: Integrated with Birdguard, these louvres serve as essential components of the building’s mechanical air handling systems.
– Non-active louvres: Fitted with composite panels, these provide a cohesive exterior appearance while enhancing thermal and acoustic performance.
All louvres were finished in RAL 7021 Matt, a sleek and modern coating that complements the refurbished design and aligns with the Academy’s professional and creative ethos.
As you can see from our photos the result is a visually striking and highly functional façade, blending contemporary design with practical airflow management. Tomburn’s expertise ensured a flawless finish, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner for architectural projects demanding precision and quality.
This collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting innovative spaces like the London Screen Academy, where design excellence meets inspiring purpose.
