Paradise Street is part of a regeneration project covering 42 acres in the heart of Liverpool, completed in 2008 to coincide with the city becoming the European Capital of Culture. The project is a large retail-led mixed use development with areas of varying character, both in terms of scale and use.
The aluminium tubing for the Costa Coffee building was originally specified to be finished in Duranar XL, although the pigments required to create these exotic colours were unable to be used for manufacture in Europe. As an alternative, these colours were created in the UK in an air drying system, using non-standard Duranar pigments.
LBL Finishers were commissioned to finish 325 tubes in eleven differing Ral colours, which varied in size from 500mm to 4600mm.
