The Wall is an ambitious project in Utrecht, Netherlands. Inside this 800 metre long by 12 metre high commercial complex, which equates to 50,000m2 of floor space, are situated offices, shops, leisure facilities and an extensive do-it-yourself market. The building also acts as a futuristic sound barrier separating the busiest section of motorway in Holland from a new adjacent residential area.

The first phase of painting was completed by LBL Finishers in August 2005, which consisted of 6,200m2 of aluminium panelling. The building opened in the summer of 2009.

The eye-catching ‘Ferrari red’ colour was formulated by LBL Finishers with the collaboration of all the parties listed below. This unique colour was designed with the aim and vision to create a shimmering effect from light to dark red metallic, visible to vehicular traffic passing along its length. The building is recognised nationally as a symbol of Utrecht.
