Tomburn specialise in the pre-treatment of aluminium, mild and galvanised steel, zintec and both ferrous and non-ferrous castings.
It is imperative in the finishing industry to have clean substrate which is free from contaminants before the finish is applied, as failure to correctly prepare the substrate will ultimately result in the failure of the coating in the field. If powder coating is to last as long as it can, it is crucial that pre-treatment takes place, ensuring the longevity of the coating. The importance of doing this correctly cannot be argued, and Tomburn Ltd offer a range of pre-treatment options for powder coating.
Pre-treatment helps the powder coating to bond more effectively to the metal surface, and also helps to withstand weathering.
Tomburn have both Chromate Conversion and Zinc Phosphate chemical pre-treatment facilities:-
Chromate Conversion is a proven system which ensures an excellent adhesion between the finishing layer and the aluminium and is specified by all major powder manufacturers offering external warranties.
Zinc Phosphate offers a superior pre-treatment to iron phosphate, which provides a good adhesion between the finishing layer and the ferrous material.
Tomburn have shot blasting facilities for steel to SA 2.5.
